Backwards Party
| This is the PartyOz guide to the perfect Backwards Party with all the ettiquette, ideas, costumes and party games. |
Here’s some advice and tips for holding a Backwards Party that your guests will surely love.
Decorations
Decorating for this party is ridiculously easy – simply turn whatever you can upside down and back to front.

Food Suggestions
Upside-Down Cake is an obvious choice for a Backwards Party.
Another idea is to give salad a twist by serving it with bread as an Inside-Out Sandwich.
Serve a 3-course meal that runs backwards, with desert served first and finishing with the entrée.
Games & Activities
Have the invites telling guests to arrive with their clothes back to front. Invites can also be sent back to front, spelling the words back to front so that they have to be read in the mirror.
A Backwards party is also the perfect excuse for kids to play dress-ups. Provide a collection of coats, jumpers and dresses for the kids to put over their own clothes – backwards, of course – and see who can come up with the silliest look.
Another fun activity is to make nametags for all the guests, spelling their names backwards. Have them use those names for the day and see who gets caught out answering to their proper name!
Print the Happy Birthday song backwards on a large sheet of paper and see if everyone can follow the tune!
Kconk Kconk:
Play reverse Knock Knock jokes by having the guests take turns in yelling out the punch line. Guests then have to figure out “who’s there” at the door. Offer prizes for whoever can guess the answer.
Mirror Writing:
Set a mirror up on a table and have the guests try to write on a sheet of paper by looking at the mirror only. The game can be more fun with others calling out what has to be written, the more ridiculous the sentence, the better!

Fun Party! We weren’t sure what to do for our party so we used the suggestions you had. The Mirror Game made us laugh, especially after a few drinks!
