Here’s some advice and tips for holding an Arts and Crafts Party that your kids will surely love.
The idea for this party is simple… Arrange paints, glue and other craft supplies like paper and glitter for the kids and let the fun begin!
Decorations
Try setting a large table with sheets of paper so the little guests can chat together as they draw and paint.
If you provide activities for the kids indoors be sure to lay down some old sheets in case there’s a mess. Old shirts bought from second-hand stores are also perfect to use as smocks.
Food
A great idea is to provide each child with a brush and food dye. Give them rice paper to paint on and let them make edible creations!
Another great idea is to let the kids decorate the cake themselves before eating it – the bigger the cake, the better!
Games & Activities
Waterbomb Painting:
Hang an old linen sheet across the yard or fasten it to the fence. Set out water bombs filled with water and dye, laid out in different colours, and let the guests take turns throwing them at the sheet to make a wild painting!
Tie-Dying:
Have the guests bring tee shirts or other old clothes that they can dye. Tie-Dying is simply done by bunching the cloth in different place using either rubber bands or string.
Soak the clothes in different colours of dye and remove the rubber bands or string where the dye will not have soaked through. You can make great patterns by using several colours, adding knew knots and rubber bands with each colour you add.
Blindfolded Painting:
Provide guests with paper and paints and see what they can make while blindfolded. A fun game is to have the guests team up in pairs. One person is given a card saying what the blindfolded partner has to paint. The blindfolded painter has to follow the directions, without knowing what they’re painting till the end.
